    1. Be Brutally Honest: Rate your organization based on where you are today, not where you plan to be. If a capability exists only in a strategic plan but not in practice, it doesn’t quite count yet. A low score is better than a false one.

    2. Don't Fly Solo: No single person holds the entire truth. We encourage you to bring in your colleagues to review and debate your capabilities and witness what AI growth and advancement might look like for your organization. The discussion is often as valuable as the score.

    3. Pace Yourself: This is deep work. You can complete each domain by itself, and return to the next one later. Take the time to gather the right information (and the right people) for each section.

    4. The "Lotto Test": Answer for the organization, not just yourself. If the only person who knows how to use a specific tool won the lottery and left tomorrow, would the capability disappear? If yes, score lower.

    5. Use the Export Function: Don't keep your answers locked in the browser. You can export the questions to guide offline review and discussions, and download your completed domains to share results with leadership and save as a permanent baseline.
